Lights of the City
A wintry spectacle for the whole family

Creative light installations made historical facades shine in a completely new splendor. Each installation told its own story.
Artists transformed prominent facades into colourful light artworks. Historical buildings such as the town hall, St. Peter’s Cathedral, the Schütting and the Cotton Exchange presented themselves in a completely different guise.
On Saturday evenings, luminous stilt walkers from the group Stelzen-Art were out and about. From 6 p.m. onwards, visitors could discover butterflies, water creatures, bird figures and winter characters around the cathedral and the market square.
The “Lights of the City” were aimed at all generations and created a place of inspiration and wonder. Families could explore the colourful installations together, couples found romantic backdrops for a special evening, and art lovers could appreciate the creative stagings. During this time, Bremen’s city center showed itself at its best: vibrant, welcoming and full of energy.
