About Me

I’m a pensioner living in Stuhr, Lower Saxony, just outside Bremen, and have pursued amateur photography since the early 1970s. My first camera was a rugged Russian Zenith SLR, but it wasn’t long before I discovered the precision of the Olympus OM-1—and stayed with Olympus film bodies right up until digital cameras became affordable in 2001.

After using only digital pocket cameras, in 2013 I embraced the Micro Four Thirds system, starting with a Lumix body, then returning to Olympus in 2015 with the compact, capable OM-10 Mark III. Today I shoot with the digital OM-1—a setup that strikes the perfect balance of lightweight handling, excellent image quality and affordability, and keeps me enthusiastic about every new frame.
